The Gerald C. Metzler Great Lakes Vessel Database is the product of 50 years of research by Gerald Metzler at archives all over the Great Lakes.

The vessel records are a compilation of newspaper accounts, government records, and the lifetime collections of at least ten maritime historians brought together for the first time.
